BNP's Nabi, 4 others arrested over arson attack on Benapole Express

Eight people including Nabiullah Nabi, joint convener of Dhaka City South BNP, have been arrested in connection with Friday night's arson attack on 'Benapole Express' train at Dhaka's Gopibagh area that left four people dead.

The other arrested persons are Jubo Dal activists Md Mansur Alam, Rasel, Salauddin, Kabir Hossain, Delwar, Hasan, and Iqbal Hossain Swapan.

Head of the Detective Branch (DB) of police and also Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Harun-or-Rashid, stated it while speaking at a press briefing held at the DMP Media Centre at Minto Road in the capital on Saturday.

Nabi along with five others were directly involved in the arson attack on the train, he said.

Nabi was picked up by the DB from a house at Uttara Sector-11 at about 12:30 am, according to a family source.
